Mazza + Madden = Mazden Wedding

Beautiful Backyard “Disney Inspired” Wedding

I am soooo excited to share the magical wedding of Nick and Thomas that I had the amazing honor of capturing this summer! It all started earlier this year when a great mutual friend of ours made the connection and Thomas gave me a call to see if I would be available for their upcoming summertime wedding! It didn’t take long for me to realize after Thomas and I chatted away for nearly an hour that I was in LOVE with these two, and for their plans for a stunning and very meaningful backyard” soiree! Every detail from how they met, to how Nick proposed, to what their plans were for their big day, put a huge smile on my face, and I knew that this would be a wedding to remember!

This handsome duo wanted to make sure that their engagement AND wedding was sprinkled with all of the things that meant the most to them as a couple…So this began with deciding to have their wedding in the backyard of the home that once belonged to Nick’s grandparents. Nick was very close with them growing up, and after their passing decided that he and Thomas would purchase the home and made plans to start remodeling the backyard so that they could eventually exchange their vows in this very special place where he had experienced so many wonderful memories with his late grandparents. Over the next year, these STUDS would completely transform the yard into pure perfection… The end result was nothing short of FABULOUS, and completely ready to host 150 of their closest family and friend for the wedding of their dreams.

Now let’s talk about details for a moment… Every single part of this crazy cool wedding was overflowing with decor and traditions that meant the most to the couple! From having “Joe’s Italian “Ice” catered in for their wedding guests – as this is where they had their very first date together, to serving their signature “Smoked Turkey” drink during the cocktail hour, as this is their all time favorite drink from their weekly date night at the Hearthstone Bar at CA Disney Adventure Park… Every single touch was handpicked by the couple to reflect who they were together and to share with their guests a glimpse of their all time favorite things! Their love for everything Disney was also quite apparent in the small touches seen throughout the decor where you will see a gorgeous “Mickey Mouse” inspired head table, and Cars Inspired touches throughout…

Both of them also wanted to make sure that all of the florals and table arrangements remained a bit modern, and not too frilly… being they were two grooms! So here comes in Nick’s beautiful mama – this lovely woman grew ALL of the succulents used for the centerpieces herself and took on the huge task of hand painting each and every pot with the couple’s initials and wedding date. Then their good friend Paige came in and created all of the boutonnieres and corsages, which turned out beautifully and really stood out against the white linens and colorful choice of wedding attire for the wedding party! The blend of eucalyptus, succulents, and personal touches throughout the reception tables made for the perfect backdrop to serve the YUMMY BBQ they chose to have catered in from a local bar and restaurantย that Thomas had once bartended at previously.

And can we talk about dessert for a moment!?! OMG… let’s just say that there was NO LACK of amazing deliciousness in this area… Going against the “traditional” wedding cake, the guys decide instead to have a huge array of everything they loved – LOTS of mini, sugary delights! From homemade brownies, to Reece’s peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies baked by Nick’s mom herself, to the TASTY Italian ice they had catered in, it was honestly the BEST and I was kind of in heaven… Just sayin ๐Ÿ™‚

But… the best part of this entire day was the LOVE…. The love of the two inspirational souls who said I DO, the love of the wedding party who have known and supported these two amazing guys for over twenty years, and the love of the family and friends who came together and made this PARTAYYY what it was! I can honestly say that I cried more than once!! From the vows, to the parents and wedding party speeches, to the first dances… Every single moment of this day was overwhelmingly special and reminded me that love does win out in the end!

So in closing I just want to say THANK YOU! ย Thank you Nick and Thomas for showing the world that true love does exist and that by living your best and most authentic life, you too can have the “happily ever after” we all seek! You, both of your families, and ALL of your amazing friends are a true example of what love is, and stands for, and I am really honored that I was there to capture all of this love on your special day!

And…. These cuties FAB wedding will be featured SOON on www.THEKNOT.com…. Stay Tuned!

Chrissy xoxo
